Break down and repair

Breaking down on I45, oh joy. Fortunately the wrecker was there in less than 30 minutes. That is Bobby testing the ECU. We thought it was the Hall sensor not picking up the magnets on the pulley, but as usual it turned out to be something simple, a bad wire crimp.

Wow, glad to see your back on the road! The Birkin Brigade is kind of off to a rough start, but am glad that you and "fire in the hole" Long are back on route. Look forward to following your travels and wish everyone a very safe and trouble free trip. Thanks for putting the other trip blog links up also!

Doesn't that thing have a ford motor in it? THAT'S the problem.... :-) Hope you have lots of repair-free days ahead of you.

Hi Al. I tell you, it was not fun having a dead car on the first day of the tour. I ordered some spare parts from SDS in Canada and had them shipped ahead to the hotel, just in case.

If you know of more tour links let me know and I'll list them as well.

OK, who is the heckler? Has to be none other than the guy Out Back.

The Ford bits all worke fine, it was just a little wire crimp. Tomorrow, or in the next few days, we plan to revisit the crimps with a soldering gun.

Hi Bill,

Yes, of course you are right.

Great to see you here, I didn't realize you had the blog address.

Guess what broke just a few days ago? The coil pack bracket you helped me with! I made yet another one, this time of steel.

Keep in touch
